New Stamp Set

I was the lucky winner of an Autumn Leaves stamp set, "Nature" by Rhonna Farrer. I bought it off of Ebay. I am really drawn to bird images lately. I can't wait until I receive these in the mail and I can get some ink on them.....

Happy Birthday Meghan

My daughter and I had a great time in Chicago over the weekend. We did get lost in the "ghetto" on the way out of town, and that was a bit scary. We ended up getting home around 1:00 am Sunday morning. We were having so much fun it was hard to leave Chicago. My husband returned home from a Canadian fishing trip with my dad, brother and two other guys. He got home Sunday morning at 8:30. So we spent the day napping and then went to the "lake house" for dinner Sunday evening. My blog hasn't had much card making/stamping information on it lately. My husband returns to FL tomorrow, so then I will have lots of extra time on my hands to work on some projects swirling around in my head.

Today is my daughters 16th birthday. It is hard to believe that my baby is 16. We are taking her out to eat at one of our favorite restaurants tonight in Fort Wayne (Cork & Cleaver).
Here is a picture of my kids.

Best sister ever....

I have the best sister ever....

She called me at work today and asked me if I could meet her outside in the parking lot. She was out running errands and had something for me. She gave me a cute card (which I will post later) and inside it said...It's 40 days till your 40th birthday! Many special things are planned for you, cause you are so special. Please check your mailbox on a daily basis for the next 40 days, as there will be special treats for you! I hope your birthday is wonderful, awesome and downright more than you expect, cause you are all those things to me. love ang

I am so excited 40 days of fun and surprises....

I am taking off 1/2 day of work today and heading to Chicago with my youngest daughter. She turns 16 next Tuesday. We are going to go to Art institute and shopping at Gurney Mills.

Have a great weekend.

It is fixed....

A couple days ago I added "Blogs I look at every day" to my blog. When I tried the them they didn't work, but I was having network problems on my home computer, so I thought it was just me (and forgot about it). But I tried them again today while I was at work and they stil weren't working. So I came home this evening and took at look at it and I had added an extra http:// to each of the websites. Just a little technical difficulty. Anyway it is fixed now.

I am all alone at home tonight. I am going to go work in my "studio" for awhile. Since there were no kids (or grandkids) here I had grape nuts and blueberries for dinner....yummmm

More Stamp Camp photos

Okay, I confess, this is not the best picture I have everytaken. Actually it is really bad. But I it is 10:00 pm and I have to leave to go pick up my daughter from her job so no time for a retake. My daughter works at an ice cream shoppe, which is really bad because I want to get ice cream everytime I drop her off and pick her up.

The first card is using a new stamp set Double Line Doodles from the new (July 1st) catalog. Paisley is huge right now, there is a fun paisley stamp in this set.

The second card is using the Carte Postale stamp set (one of my favorites) and watercolor crayons.

As I told you in the last post, I went to a Memory Works party this evening. It was FUN. Gina was the hostess, here is a link to her website.

I am a Genuis

For anyone who is new to my blog, I am really not that "full" of myself, but sometimes I make something that I am really happy with and I proclaim "I am a Genuis". This also makes my sister laugh when I say it...... so I don't need any other reason than that.

Attached are two projects that I taught at stamp camp on July 21st.

The first one is a tri-fold card. I love pink and brown together, almost as much as I love turquoise and brown. And of course I love Stampin Up's double sided patterned paper.

I have seen several butterflies made out paisley stamps, but could never quite figure out how it was done. One day I sat down at my desk and made one, when I finished with this next card I proclaimed "I am a genius". Really the person who came up with this technique first is a genius, but I was pretty proud of myself that I figured it out.

If you would like dimensions or instructions for either of these cards, but send me an email.

I have more stamp camp projects to post....stay tuned

Tonight I am going with my sister and mom to a Memory Works party. I am pretty excited!! They have a clear journaling stamp set I have been wanting, and their paper is amazing....it should be fun.

I'm Back......

Sorry I have neglected my blog for so long.... I added a new blog banner this week and made a promise to myself to do better. One valid excuse that I can use is that I broke my camera while in Florida. I had the camera in my purse and then shut my purse in the car door (cracked the screen). My husband (who is a genius) fixed it for me when he was home last week, so I am back in business. Here is a name frame that I made for my friend Criss's daughter, Claire, who had her first birthday party this weekend. I got the shadow box from the dollar store ($.50) and took it apart and put it back together. It came with the flower in it, but I took the flower out and cut it in half and put it in the corner of the box. I also made a butterfly using a paisley stamp, vellum and silver cord.

Enjoy.....
