Sharing My Spark

I made this card for Heather's "share your spark" challenge. You can find the information here.
The challenge was to make a card with a raised dimensional element. I cut out both the pirate and the bird and adhered them to the card with dimensionals. Of course I had to add some stickles to the sword, patch and hook on the pirate.
I am sending this card to our friend Frank in Florida (he is a real pirate, Aarrrrrrh).
Have a great weekend!

My New Haircut

Before....
This was taken at Easter (I am holding our youngest granddaughter Lauren), the ends of my hair looks scraggly.
After...
Holy Smokes, my hair feels so much better! Thanks Ang!!

Have you ever tried to take a picture of yourself? It is not the easiest thing to do. Yes, I could have set the camera up on the tripod, set the timer and taken it that way, but it is so much more fun to hold the camera at arms length, and try to smile without looking to weird.

You Hoo!

Here is the card that I made for Kristina Werners Color Inspiration Challenge #3. You can check out her blog here. The colors for the challenge were Orchid Opulence, Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Whisper White.
I was excited to use a new stamp set that I bought last weekend. It is from Hero Arts and is called You Hoo Owl.

Non stamping related...I am getting my hair cut tomorrow. My hair is very, long and I just feel like it is boring. I want something a bit more trendy. And since my sister is my stylist, she is going to take care of me.

Happy Easter

We had a great Easter with our family. Last year we didn't celebrate Easter as a family because most of us were driving back from Florida after spring break.

It was a bit chilly for hunting easter eggs, but at least the sun was out.

Watch Out!!

Meg got her drivers license today!!

She was VERY nervous when she went in to take her driving test. I tried to tell her it was not a big deal and no reason to be nervous... She was worried about parallel parking. She hit the curb on her first try, but parked perfectly the second try.

When we got home, she was ready to go driving on her own. She took my car...after she left I was looking for my camera. I called her (she was at her friends) and she said "maybe you left it in the car?" So what do I do, I walk outside to look in my car. Duhhhh, she drove away in my car. This is going to take some getting used to.

I Lost My Groove...

Sorry I have been gone so long....
I seemed to have lost my groove, but I am slowly getting it back.

My sweet grandpa passed away in January. He lived a good long life, but I would have been happy to have him around for 100 more years. I miss him and think about him every day.

In February I had a hysterectomy. The recovery was SLOW! I spent most days sleeping late and then sleeping on the couch.

I started back to work this week and and feeling pretty good (about 90%). I even created several cards and something special for my new niece Claire. My sister (Kim) and her husband (Brad) waited a long time for such a sweet little blessing. Claire was born on Monday (3/10/08) and weighed 9 lbs 10 oz and was 22 1/2" long. I can't wait to meet her and kiss her chubby cheeks.

Here are some pictures of items that I received from my grandparents household. Each one of these items holds a special place in my heart. I am going to do a scrapbook page explaining the story behind each item, so when my grandchildren inherit them from me they will know the story too.
