Pink Elephant

It has been awhile since I posted to my Blog.... Travis returned home from Florida and brought not sunshine with him, but a horrible cold. Of course I ended up with it.....I spent all day Sunday on the couch and then didn't go to work on Monday. Finally I am starting to feel a little better, but I sound like a man.....and it is not sexy.

Tonight I was home all alone and spent it in my "office" working on Stamp Camp projects and making some special cards. The card I am attaching was made by stamping the elephant image with versamark then embossing it with clear embossing powder. Then I brayered over the whole image with black ink. Then I finished up the card. After I got it all done I thought, darn I wish I would have used my paisley stamp instead of the "hot to dot" wheel. Oh well, maybe tomorrow. My inspiration for this card was the new Vera Bradley pattern with pink elephants.

Happy Valentines Day

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day. Attached is the gift that I made for my husband Travis. I actually "kissed" the vanilla cardstock while wearing some red lipstick. Then I sprinkled on heat and stick powder, heated it up and then sprinkled on dazzling diamonds and reheated it. You can tell in the photo, but it really sparkles. I layered the "lips" on cranberry crisp cardstock and layered that on a strip of patterned paper. I embossed the word Love with white embossing powder on chocolate chip cardstock. I thought it turned out great.
Only 34 days until the first day of spring......

More stamp camp projects

Hi!
Here are a couple more projects from Stamp Camp.
We made a coaster calendar using Rebecca paper and lots of dazzling diamonds. The card in the middle was made using the Sell-a-bration set Big Blossom and the Paisley background stamp. The item on the right is made out of 5 coasters and is covered in the Rebecca paper. I am using this on my desk to keep pens and highlighters in.
I am off to my "office" to create some Valentine cards. I will post them tomorrow.

Stamp Camp Extravaganza

My sister Ang and I hosted the Stamp Camp Extravaganza on Saturday. We had a great turn out despite the frigid temperature and blizzard like conditions. Attached are a few of the projects. We had nine project, I will add the other projects later. I also am adding a picture of our new venue, the North Webster Community Center. As you can see we had lots and lots of room.

Frames Disected

I ran to Pamida today during lunch and picked up a couple more frames. Then went back to my office to take the frames apart and take pictures of them.

I am attaching the "before" pictures.
I went to watch Maddi A. play basketball today!
Great Game Maddi!!

I have been thinking about my blog all day.....I sent the link out to my friends and family. I hope my ideas and samples inspire all of you to create something amazing.....

I was excited to finally get some snow. The kids have been sledding and playing hockey and even the dog was excited to get to go play in the snow. Jaden, my granddaughter who is almost two, cried when her parents took her out in the snow. She didn't like the snowflakes falling on her. She doesn't like bugs, so I am thinking that maybe she thought the flakes were bugs? I wish I would have been there to see it. That would have made a great scrapbook page. Maybe I will have to recreate it.
The above picture is made from a shadowbox frame I purchased at the Dollar Store (on clearance for $.25). I had to do a little work on it. I had to open up the back and remove the weird stuff that was inside (a fish and an odd poem). Then I sanded the frame and white washed it with acrylic paint. The image I stamped on the background is from the SU spring mini. I stamped CM then wrote in Cris Marsh (it isn't very clear in the picture). I have this sitting in my office on my bookshelf. Looks pretty good for a quarter.

My first blog

I am so excited about my new blog.....
I am posting a picture of a picture frame that I just completed. I bought the frame for a dollar at a local discount store (Pamida). I used the Enchantment paper from the SU winter mini. I love this paper and had a difficult time using it. I have to confess.....I am a paper hoarder.
I used close to cocoa cardstock on the back of the frame, and taupe grossgrain ribbon for the hanger.
This frame highlights one of my favorite subjects....my grandaughter Jaden.

I am always on the prowl for cheap 3D items that I can transform. When I bought this chipboard frame, the clerk who checked me out said "what a cute" frame. What I wanted to say was "you should see it when I get finished with it". But what I said was "yes, it is". I will go purchase another frame and take it apart and then show you how I put it back together.

In the next couple days I will post more 3D items that I have made recently and samples from the Stamp Camp Extravaganza that my sister Angie and I are hosting this weekend.
